ISLAMABAD – Muslims across Pakistan are observing second day of Eid ul-Azha on Sunday with continued ritual animal sacrifices, family gatherings, and joyful public celebrations.

This year, Eid ulAzha is being celebrated with great enthusiasm nationwide. After start of Qurbani (sacrificial slaughter) on Saturday, many families continued the religious tradition today on Sunday. The meat from the sacrifices is being shared with relatives, neighbors, and the less fortunate, reflecting the spirit of charity and compassion that defines the occasion.

Public parks, picnic spots, and recreational areas in major cities remained packed as families ventured out to enjoy the festive atmosphere and mild weather. Traditional customs—such as hosting guests, preparing elaborate meals, and exchanging greetings—remain central to the celebrations.

This year’s Eid has also seen an outpouring of prayers and solidarity messages for oppressed communities, particularly in Gaza and Indian-occupied Kashmir, with many including special prayers in their Eid gatherings.

Authorities urged masses to dispose of animal waste in a safe and hygienic manner to help maintain cleanliness during the holiday period.

Eid ul-Azha commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) unwavering devotion to Allah, symbolized by his willingness to sacrifice his son. In honor of his faith, Muslims around the world perform animal sacrifices—usually of goats, cows, or camels—and distribute the meat among family, friends, and the needy.
